Hampton Holistic General Practice
1. Bulk Billing
- all consultations
For patients currently registered with Medicare. If you do not have your Medicare card, the clinic can phone Medicare during business hours to obtain the necessary details and if desired, arrange for a replacement card to be sent.
2. Bulk Billed Allied Health Care Services
(Psychology, Physiotherapy etc)
Via a Medicare initiative introduced in 2004, patients with ongoing conditions
may gain access to Medicare funding for the more conventional allied health
care services such as physiotherapy and psychology.
Eligible services include those provided by
Aboriginal health workers, audiologists,
chiropractors, chiropodists, dietitians, diabetes educators, mental
health workers, occupational therapists,
osteopaths, physiotherapists, podiatrists,
psychologists and speech pathologists.
The funding is limited
in
amount and also by the number of consultations a pateint may have per allied service, but patients may access more than one service eg patients may access both an osteopath and a psychologist to the maximum amount allowable. An important pre-requisite is
the formulation
of a 'care plan' by a General Practitioner that the patient is currently
under
treatment with. As part of the 'care plan' process, the General Practitioner
will consult with two different types of health care workers involved in
the person's care.
Please feel free to discuss this option with me. Note that if I am providing significantly different treatment to what your existing GP provides, only one further health care worker may be needed for the 'care plan' to be completed by either myself or by your existing GP.
For more information, please examine this document at the HIC website.
3. Access to psychologists via the Central Bayside Division
of General Practice's fund holding project. Patients may qualify for subsidies for consultations with psychologists, via a 'Fund Holding' project of the Central Bayside Division. Both the GPs and the psychologists must be registered with this project of the Division.
4. Other useful bulk-billed services
Review of medications via the 'Home Medicines Review' project (select and download the Patient Information Sheet), comprehensive Annual Health Assessments for patients aged 75 or more (refer to the Patient Information Sheet and other initiatives are available.
